India is the second largest country in the world and a fast growing economy. Its English-speaking and IT-conversant youth have not only made it the ‘outsourcing capital in the world’ but also created high-technology enterprises that include bio-technology and car manufacturing. Politically, India plays an increasingly important role in Asia and globally, not least as spokesperson for developing countries’ demands.
Yet, India is poor, polluted and ridden with divisions and conflict. The large and increasing population demands higher living standards, which endangers the country’s natural resources. This ancient civilization faces enormous challenges of globalization; a situation causing both hostile reactions and strategies of accommodation.
Through NCI's "Study in India programmes", you will get an unique opportunity to learn and engage with the many aspects of contemporary India.
