The Nordic Centre in India (NCI) is a consortium of leading universities and research institutions in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. It was established in 2001 with the objective to facilitate cooperation in research and higher education between the Nordic countries and India. Through academic exchange NCI seeks to strengthen Indo-Nordic ties and understanding.

RECENT NEWSNCI arranged a lecture by Professor Olafur Hardarson, Professor of Political Science and Dean of School of Social Sciences, University of Iceland on the topic 'Icelandic Politics: A Deviation from Scandinavian Norms' at the Arts and Aesthetics Auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi on the 15th of January, 2010 at 3:30 pm. NCI played host to Prof. Bhattacharya, the Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi from the 18th of October to the 25th of October, 2009. Prof. Bhattacharya has visited Uppsala University and Stockholm University in Sweden, University of Oslo in Norway, and University of Jyväskylä in Finland as part of his trip in the Nordic region. NCI held its General Assembly Meeting at Århus University on held on 6 October 2009.
